NWFA Hosts Member Pavilion at DOMOTEX USA

NWFA HOSTS MEMBER PAVILION AT DOMOTEX USA

The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) hosted a member pavilion at the inaugural DOMOTEX USA, which took place February 28 – March 2, 2019, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

The pavilion included manufacturers and suppliers of wood flooring-related products, including Aacer Flooring, American OEM, Middle Tennessee Lumber, and Powernail Company.

“NWFA and its members have participated in DOMOTEX shows in Germany, China, and Dubai over the years,” says NWFA President & CEO, Michael Martin, “so when we heard the show would be debuting in the U.S., we knew we had to be there. The U.S. event attracted an international audience that provided our members with an opportunity to showcase their products to an entirely new group of qualified buyers. Traffic was steady, and conversations were productive.”

For Burns, Tennessee-based American OEM, the NWFA pavilion offered an affordable way to participate in the show. “Being part of the NWFA pavilion worked quite well for us,” says CEO Don Finkell. “We had a small kiosk in the pavilion, and then a larger, shared sitting area where we could meet with clients and conduct business. It was a very cost-effective way to be at the show.”

In addition to exhibiting and hosting the pavilion, NWFA VP of Education & Certification, Brett Miller also presented an education session during the event: Addressing the Labor Shortage. This session took a look at how the labor shortage affects the flooring industry and the programs NWFA offers its members to address the issue. Miller also led two “Insider Talks” on the Plaza Stage, which was located on the show floor: Moisture Meter Use for Wood Flooring Pros, and Color and Finish Repairs for Wood Flooring.

DOMOTEX USA is the first U.S.-based show for DOMOTEX, which produces flooring shows in multiple countries. The shows primarily features residential floor coverings, including area rugs, carpet, hardwood, laminate, and resilient. The 2020 show will be held February 5-7 in Atlanta.
